The Livable Communities Advisory Committee (LCAC) reviews and recommends Livable Communities development project grant awards, primarily focused on multi-family rental housing and homeownership projects, and including some community-centered commercial projects. This is a technical review group with broad expertise that scores and recommends complex development and redevelopment proposals based on the Metropolitan Council’s approved program criteria. Projects applying to the Livable Communities program all aim to expand housing choices, improve safety, and ensure residents can meet their needs in their community.
Committee meetings are centered on two funding rounds per year, in the spring and fall. The committee meets up to 8 times per year, within these funding rounds, and to support the Livable Communities program.
