Mike Webb owns a coffee shop in Chaska. He learned, firsthand, the need for homes that are affordable to working people. At one point, he and his wife opened their Carver home to an employee who struggled to find a home she could afford that was also close to work.
After serving on the city council and then as Carver mayor, Webb’s eyes were opened further when a builder proposed a 68-unit affordable housing development in the city.
He says he was skeptical at first. But now, Carver Crossing Apartments makes him proud.
