Livable Communities grants advance the Imagine 2050 goals for our region to be equitable and inclusive, our communities to be healthy and safe, and our region to be dynamic and resilient by funding projects that:

  • Expand housing choices.
  • Improve safety.
  • Ensure everyone can meet their needs in their community.
Livable Communities grants help meet needs across the development continuum. Livable Communities grants help:
  • Set the stage for development. Grants help fund local policy and affordable housing program development or small area plans to foster community-centered development and revitalization projects that align with regional goals promoting more housing choices, growth, equity, economic vitality, and more.
  • Advance development projects. Cities, counties, and development authorities can help channel regional grant dollars to organizations and development teams working in your community on projects that plan to build, rehabilitate, or preserve affordable housing, neighborhood small business, mixed-use, or job training spaces.

The first application deadline for 2026 funding is April 15, 2026.
